Americans Ignore The Cancer Beyond Its Borders
Kinda like having a peeing end of the pool.
With the focus on General Motors and the collapse of the vital American auto economy, most forget that this is a worldwide calamity. Europeans, deep into the heart of the old Soviet Empire, all are suffering at the meltdown of the American Way.
Romania is just one of dozens of examples, none of which make the media here in the west. Labour heavy automakers are shutting down, auto suppliers falling like dominoes, and simple citizens of the recent western way are being tossed onto heaps of hopelessness and despair.
Worse, American controlled international safety nets like the World bank and the IMF make bail out support contingent on dismantling social safety nets – as if nothing has changed in the world.
While we here in the west agonize over highly paid union members and a lifestyle – even at its worst – which is light years ahead of countries like Romania, any solution here is pointless without one there.
Labour heavy automakers are shutting down?

Well, any auto makers that cannot get the government to pay consumers to buy their cars at least. Ya, that’s the answer – the government buy everybody new cars. That will keep the asembly lines moving. Why didn’t I think of that?
